Leading worship through Christ centered distraction free production
"There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work." 1 Corinthians 12:4-6
About me
Hi my name is Kian Mahoney. I currently serve as Associate Technical Director for Parkview Church in Palm Coast, Florida. I've been with Parkview for 3 years. Over the course of those 3 years the church has seen unprecedented growth and it has been an amazing thing to be a part of.
A little bit about me. I have three cats: Smoke, Helena, and Reighley. Some of my hobbies include: cooking and baking, nature walks, playing with synthesizers, and collection records. I am one class away from finishing my associates degree in Music Production Technology from Daytona State College. And I've worked in concert production for six years and in ministry for three years.
A summary of my current position at Parkview:
Lead production volunteer development for the opening Ormond Beach Campus by training and supporting team members to ensure consistent, high quality service execution. At Parkview Palm Coast it is my responsibility to maintain and troubleshoot audio, video, and lighting equipment to support reliable operations across services and events, including live production support, broadcast coordination, technical systems management, and serving as Next Gen Technical Director. It is my job to support the Technical Director in planning and executing technical production for worship services and church events, helping create seamless, engaging and Christ centered worship experiences. I design and program lighting to enhance service flow and atmosphere and mix Front of House for all services. Plan and execute technical production for Next Gen services and events, including audio, video, lighting, and presentations, while mentoring and leading student and adult volunteers in technical roles. Operate production equipment during live services, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain and organize youth ministry production systems to support safe, reliable, and engaging environments.
I first started as an intern to do lighting for weekend services and have proven my love for production and ministry and have been promoted to Assistant Technical Director and most recently Associate Technical Director.
My Testimony
I grew up Mormon, I went to church every Sunday, got baptized at the age of 8 like most Mormons do but never had a personal relationship with God. I never knew the purpose or meaning of baptism. Along with that I was the most stubborn little boy ever. I soon began to question everything and didn’t like the answers I was given and decided to turn from the Mormon church. Come high school I was an atheist. Something about the highschool I went to is they had a professional 1200 seat auditorium on campus that put on professional touring shows throughout the year along with school productions and events. Coming into high school I needed an Arts requirement to graduate so I took a technical theatre class. I didn't think anything would come from it but the class had a volunteer opportunity to work the concerts they brought in. I was sitting in class after the teacher had talked about it and I was walking away from it and a voice told me “you have to sign up” at the time I didn’t realize but God was talking to me. After that I fell in love with tech and production and it became my life. I eventually got paid to do the shows at the school and put in so many volunteer hours. Doing production was my life and what I dreamed about doing for the rest of my life. At the beginning of my senior year one of the tech teachers started working at Parkview part time. And at the time Parkview was much different than it is today. They wanted to get into production more and I had taken a liking to doing lighting so they offered me an internship doing lighting for the weekend services.
As an atheist Parkview hired me.
The job was fun. I got to do what I loved, but I was scared of losing my job because of my lack of faith. So I said a prayer of faith and forced myself to believe. After a while I started to believe and pay more attention during the services but I was still very lukewarm. I’d sit in multiple services a week working and still didn’t have a personal connection with Jesus. One night I couldn’t sleep and I put on worship music which I rarely did at the time, And as I listened to music I just began to cry. I realized everything I’d been doing was wrong. I called out to Jesus and repented of all my sins, surrendered everything to the Lord and truly put my trust in him. After that I got baptized because I wanted to. Not for fear of losing my job or pleasing anyone. I did it to publicly show the life change that happened. It is truly beautiful how God had planned out every step along the way. From telling me the career path to go and providing me an opportunity to truly find him. He still loved me when I rejected him. He has given me a career, a job and most importantly salvation. I’m so grateful for the skills that I’ve been given by God. That I can help bring services to the church. The lights, the sound, the lyrics, it all brings me so much joy that I can use my skills and knowledge to give people a place to worship together and to bring the word of Jesus to people.

Production Team Leading
Here is a graphic I made to go in our Production Office. I think it is important to give praises to the volunteer team and remiond them of the difference they are making.
1 Corinthians 12:4-6 is a bible verse I've based my ministry off of. Some volunteers have been given skills in lighting, sound, video or just a heart to serve but it is the same God who has given them each of these skills as gifts to help spread the gospel.
Next Gen Center Remodeling
When I first got hired the main sancuary was the one pictured here. much different than it is in this photo now. The church was in the middle of an addition creating a new 850 seat auditorium and the old sancuary would become a Next Gen Center. Some complications happened and that project got delayed. So in the mean time we went in and freshened up the Next Gen auditorium. I worked with a set budget to get the matterials needed and put together a quote. Come time for actual construction I worked along side out project oversight pastor to create a quote, budget and work with and organize volunteers to do the whole install in house. everthing pictured here was installed by myself and a volunteer team
Current Mixing set up
Something I strive for is having a clean and organized working area. And I love to intergrating new technology into the set up. Recently I added a Stream Deck running Companion to help easily change audio routing changes, monitor mic battery, change Waves Vocal Tuner key, and change campus wide video sources
